A China Import Service Fee (CISF) is paid on all LCL imports, mainly originating from China and Hong Kong. The charge is a result of financial promises made at origin, which need to be met at destination. These are the kind of hidden costs that can arise when goods are sent on CFR or CIF shipping terms with very low seafreights at origin side. It's not easy to pin down exactly what you are paying for, yet you have no alternative but to pay the extra costs at destination.
